‘Nami no Ho’ is a work themed on “teenage girls and tears” by Japan based creative duo 'kasane' comprised of illustrator Mayumi Isshiki, and photographer Nanako Koyama.

“Why do girls forget their tears and become women?”

‘波の穂’は10代の少女と涙をテーマにした、イラストレーター・一色真由美とフォトグラファー・小山奈那子の2人からなるクリエイティブデュオ'kasane'の作品。

“あの頃の涙を、どうして少女は忘れて女になっていくのだろう。”

Although it looks like one singluar work at first glance…

一見すると一枚の作品に見えますが、

… this is actually made up of two separate pieces. The photographs were printed on transparent film to allow the illustrations to show thought underneath.

実は二層になっており、透明フィルムに印刷された写真の下にイラストが描かれています。

We gently scratched away the expressions from the photographs, and tried to express the girls’ emotion through these illustrations.

写真から表情を手作業で削り、少女たちの心情をイラストで表現しました。
